Recycling Containers
Our recycling containers are an innovating set of products designed to mitigate the risks created in the handling mercury containing light bulbs and other universal waste. These recycling containers come with filters, specifically designed to adsorb mercury releases in the case of accidental breakage during the course of staging, shipping, handling. All fluorescent bulbs, including those deemed ecologically safe, contain at least .25mg/m of mercury. Each time 3 or 4 lamps are broken during handling or transportation, emissions are present that exceed published OSHA standards by ten (10) times or more. By introducing these patented recycling packages to a container of lamps destined for recycling, the potential hazard has been neutralized and the packaged lamps can now be handled by untrained labor with no need for respiratory protection or any other health and safety gear normally associated with the safe management of mercury vapor. These recycling containers provide an easy way to safely recycle universal waste.
Our pricing includes all shipping and handling. Once your order is received, you will be shipped:
- The MercPak recycling container of your choice.
- A liner for the interior of the box.
- *Two MercPak filters to mitigate any accidental mercury release
- Universal waste tape to identify your material as such.
- A pre-paid return shipping label Instructions for the proper assembly and packaging are printed directly onto your MercPak recycling container. - Once you have filled your container, simply seal it and call FedEx at the phone number provided on your pre-paid return label to schedule a pickup. After we have received and properly recycled your materials, you will be forwarded a certificate of recycling for your records.
*MercPak battery and ballast buckets do not include MercPak filters.
