Cel-Span® FR 600 is a unique product that is an halogen-free HDPE compound. This product is produced with a fractional melt HDPE and with a 0.949 density hexene base with excellent chemical resistance, ESCR, and impact properties. This unique compound exhibits excellent thermal properties, low specific gravity and UL94 rating of VO at 1/16 (3.2mm) thickness parts.
This is an innovative product recommended for blow molding and extrusion applications. Profile applications include windows, wall moldings, and electrical conduit. Blow molding applications include indoor stadiums and theater plastic chairs.
The unique non-halogen additives in the Cel-Span® FR 600 series, work by intumescences chemistry and char formation initiated upon heating at elevated temperatures of 500° - 1200°F. We recommend that the barrel zone temperatures be set at 360° - 380°F for optimum processing A mold temperature of 110° - 150°F should be used for optimum molding quality.
Toxicity and Safety:
No adverse health effects from the use of Cel-Span® FR 600 are known. All additives in this unique formulation are located in the Code of Federal Regulations and have GRAS status.
Packaging and Storage:
Cel-Span® FR 600 is packaged in 50 lb. bags and 1000 lb. Gaylord boxes. We recommend that this product be kept closed in its original container or package in a dry location for optimum functional use and ease of handling.
