Cel-Span® FR 667 is a unique product that is a zero free halogen HDPE compound. This product is produced with a specialized HDPE resin with excellent impact properties. This unique flame retardant compound exhibits excellent thermal properties and passes the E84 class A specification for building materials.
This is an innovative product which addresses the typical processing issues of voids and volatiles when extruding thick sections. This product is recommended for profile applications, windows, doors, bath partitions, laboratory tables and counter tops.
The unique non-halogen additives in the Cel-Span® F R 667 series, work by intumescence chemistry,char formation and water liberation upon heating at elevated temperatures of 500°F - 1200°F. We recommend that the barrel zone temperatures be set at 370°F - 400°F for optimum processing. This product is very thermal stable as seen by the Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA Curve).
Toxicity and Safety:
No adverse health effects from the use of Cel-Span® F R 667 are known. All additives in this unique formulation are located in the Code of Federal Regulations and have GRAS status.
Packaging and Storage:
Cel-Span® F R 667 is packaged in 50 lb. bags and 1000 lb. Gaylord boxes. We recommend that this product be kept closed in its original container or package in a dry location for optimum functional use and ease of handling.
