Material:

Polypropylene PlasticPolypropylene (PP) is a tough plastic that has excellent chemical resistance. PP is translucent in its natural state but can have a glossy finish when produced with color. Some examples of common products made with PP are dairy and medication containers. Polypropylene is suitable for hot fill applications of up to 205°F and is therefore great for autoclaving. It is not recommended for cold or sub-freezing temperatures. The Cary Company has an assortment of polypropylene plastics available for purchase, such as plastic caps and jars, which have a higher tolerance for chemical products. Discover if Polypropylene is appropriate for hot fill application by learning more about What Is Hot Fill Packaging and how it applies to Polypropylene containers.

Q & A
Customer Questions
What are some advantages of plastic paint cans?
These containers offer a lighter weight as compared with comparably sized metal containers, which can save on shipping costs. Our paint cans are made of durable polypropylene (PP) plastic, which offers durability to protect the pail contents, yet it doesn’t dent like metal cans. PP plastic is ideal for water-based products, such as latex paints. If you’re considering a plastic paint can for your product, you are welcome to request a sample to test the compatibility of your product with these rugged containers.
Are these plastic paint cans recyclable?
Yes, these plastic paint cans are recyclable. Additionally, many of our plastic paint cans are regrind containers. Regrind containers are made up of ground up plastic that has been previously used, then ground up into raw material and made into something entirely new. These containers will almost always be black.
Can I put food products in this plastic paint can?
The regrind plastic used for these paint cans is not FDA approved. Therefore, you should not use these containers to store food or food ingredients
Do you sell lids and bails for this paint can?
Yes, you can purchase both lids and bails (metal handles) for various paint cans. Many of our paint cans come with a compatible lid and/or bail. Cans sold without lids have compatible lids listed in the Related Products section of that paint can’s product page. Please note that only paint cans with ears are compatible with bails.
