ACEMATT® 3600

Description:
Pyrogenic, surface modified silica
Particle size d50 value (laser diffraction): 5 µm

Chemical Name:
Surface treated, precipitated silica

Synonyms:
Treated matting agent, fine particle size silica

Applications:
ACEMATT® 3600, treated with a special organic polymer, is a fine particle size silica, especially designed for low gloss radiation curable coationgs. ACEMATT® 3600 has a low impact on the viscosity of UV Coating compared to conventional silica matting agents. High matting efficiency, excellent transparency in UV coating systems and an easy processability are additional features ACEMATT® 3600. Due to a special organic surface treatment ACEMATT® 3600 shows a very good recoatability in application that require a second coating or varnish layer.

ACEMATT® 3300

Description:
Pyrogenic, surface modified silica
Particle size d50 value (laser diffraction): 9 µm

Chemical Name:
Silicon dioxide, chemically prepared, polysiloxane

Synonyms:
Matting agent, silica, pyrogenic silica

Applications:
ACEMATT® 3300 is a new development in the ACEMATT® family of matting agents.
In solvent and waterborne coatings the surface modification leads to an outstanding suspension behaviour. In waterborne systems, there is only a minimum adsorption of associative thickeners resulting in improved rheology stability.
Excellent transparency is obtained making it ideal for clear wood coatings, as observed by the depth of color when applied over colored substrates.
ACEMATT® 3300 also has the added benefit of providing an elegant matted finish to soft-feel coatings as well as enhancing the tactile sensation

ACEMATT® HK 400

Description:
All-purpose, untreated matting agent; Average agglomerate particle size (median TEM): 3 µm

Chemical Name:
Silicon dioxide, produced chemically

Synonyms:
Matting agent, precipitated silica

Applications:
ACEMATT® HK 400 is applicable wherever there is no need for organic surface treatment.

ACEMATT® HK 440

Description:
ACEMATT® HK 440 is a new very high efficient untreated matting (flatting) agent. ACEMATT® HK 440 is designed for coatings which require a low gloss to sheen ratio, e.g. coil coatings, roof coatings, alkyd varnishes.

Chemical Name:
Silicon dioxide, produced chemically

Synonyms:
Matting agent, precipitated silica

Applications:
The following potential benefits are obtained when using ACEMATT® HK 440:

  • Very high matting (flatting) efficiency
  • Low gloss:sheen ratio
  • Excellent surface appearance

ACEMATT® HK 450

Description:
Untreated matting agent manufactured by a newly developed process. Average agglomerate particle size (median TEM): 3 µm

Chemical Name:
Silicon dioxide, produced chemically

Synonyms:
Matting agent, precipitated silica

Applications:
This highly efficient matting agent is particularly suitable for systems with low gloss to sheen ratio, e.g. coil coatings.

ACEMATT® HK 460

Description:
Untreated matting agent.
Average agglomerate particle size (median TEM): 2,5 µm

Chemical Name:
Silicon dioxide, produced chemically

Synonyms:
Matting agent, precipitated silica, thermal precipitated silica

Applications:
High matting efficiency together with high surface smoothness make it universally applicable.

ACEMATT® OK 412

Description:
Easily dispersible, all-purpose matting agent with organic surface-treatment.
Average agglomerate particle size (median TEM): 3 µm

Chemical Name:
Silicon dioxide, produced chemically

Synonyms:
Matting agent, precipitated silica, flatting agent

Applications:
With ACEMATT® OK 412 excellent coating film surfaces with excellent surface smoothness, even in pigmented systems, are achieved. Thanks to the outstanding suspension behavior, it is especially suitable for use in clear coats.

ACEMATT® OK 500

Description:
Easily dispersible, all-purpose matting agent with organic surface-treatment.
Average agglomerate particle size (median TEM): 3 µm

Chemical Name:
Silicon dioxide, produced chemically

Synonyms:
Matting agent, precipitated silica, flatting agent

Applications:
With ACEMATT® OK 500 excellent coating film surfaces with excellent surface smoothness, even in pigmented coatings, are achieved. Thanks to the outstanding suspension behavior, it is particularly suitable for clear coatings.
ACEMATT® OK 500 is recommended for coatings in which ACEMATT® OK 412 could cause drying delays.

ACEMATT® OK 520

Description:
Easily dispersible, all-purpose matting agent with organic surface treatment.
Average agglomerate particle size (median TEM): 3 µm

Chemical Name:
Silicon dioxide, produced chemically

Synonyms:
Matting agent, precipitated silica, flatting agent

Applications:
With ACEMATT® OK 520 excellent coating film surfaces with excellent surface smoothness, also in pigmented systems, are achieved. Thanks to the outstanding suspension behavior, it is especially suitable for clear coatings.
In addition, due to the special precipitation process, it has higher transparency particularly in PU coatings.
Coating films matted with ACEMATT® OK 520 feature high chemical resistance.

ACEMATT®OK 607

Description:
Easily dispersible, very finely divided matting agent with organic surface treatment.
Average agglomerate particle size (median TEM): 2 µm

Chemical Name:
Silicon dioxide, produced chemically

Synonyms:
Matting agent, precipitated silica

Applications:
The overall array of properties matches ACEMATT® OK 412. Distinctions include both particle size and the resulting high surface smoothness and distinct sheen behavior; thus, in comparison to ACEMATT® OK 412, ACEMATT® OK 500 and ACEMATT® OK 520, high gloss at the 85° observation angle.
It is ideal for thin-layer systems with top surface quality.
It is also eminently suitable for aqueous coating systems in which coarse-particle matting agents result in rough coating film surfaces.
Thanks to a fine-tuned manufactoring process, the positive properties of ACEMATT® OK products are achieved at a small coating thickness, so no adverse effects are anticipated on intermediate adhesion.

What differentiates it from ACEMATT® OK 412, besides the particle size, is the very high surface smoothness and significant sheen behavior. It is predestined for thin-layer systems with high quality surfaces. It is also ideal for water-soluble lacquers on which coarse matting agents result in rough lacquer film surfaces.

ACEMATT® TS 100

Description:
Thermal, untreated matting agent.
Average agglomerate particle size (median TEM): 4 µm

Chemical Name:
Silicon dioxide, produced chemically

Synonyms:
Matting agent, precipitated silica, thermal precipitated silica

Applications:
ACEMATT® TS 100 features excellent matting efficiency and transparency. Because of the unique manufactoring process, it is particularly suitable for systems wich are difficult to matt, for water-borne dispersion coatings and for finish coatings.
Use of ACEMATT® TS 100 may provide coatings with outstanding resistance to household chemicals. Thanks to the high purity and the resulting low conductivity ACEMATT® TS 100 is ideal for use in sensitive coating systems.
ACEMATT® TS 100 improves flow behavior and the storage stability of powder coatings.
