Zinc dust is a fine grey metallic powder used in corrosion resistant coatings and a variety of chemical type applications. Unlike zinc powder, zinc dust is manufactured using the controlled condensation of zinc vapor in an inert atmosphere like nitrogen; zinc dust particle size can vary by controlling the gas recirculation rate and the production rate. No. 64 grade is controlled particle size distribution, essentially finer than 15 microns, which makes it ideally suited for use in thin film corrosion-resistant metal coatings with either organic or inorganic binders.  It is an easily suspended pigment, and the absence of large particles makes it suitable for aerosol paints.
