The 26W85A is a UN rated 5 gallon gray tight head steel pail. It has a Rieke opening and is lined with pigmented phenolic lining. Typical industrial and commercial products which do not affect the pigmented phenolic lining are acid compounds, agricultural chemicals, insecticides, corrosive chemicals, solvents and solvent containing materials, nitrocellulose lacquers and inks, food products, essential oils and petroleum products. This closed head round bucket is 24 gauge, the strongest and thickest steel pail we offer, providing your product the greatest level of security possible.

Pigmented phenolic lining:
High degree of acid and solvent resistance. Not recommended for alkaline products. Pigmented to achieve the red-brown color. The pigment allows for thicker film thickness and is selected when greater protection is required.

The kind of closures we offer that are compatible with tight head steel pails are flexspouts, screw caps, or 2" and 3/4" bung closures.
How many cubic feet in a 5 gallon pail?
The simple conversion of measurement of 5 gallons is 0.803 cubic feet. However, this is for the nominal capacity of the pail. The actual (overflow) capacity of a pail can vary from model to model. To calculate the full volume in cubic feet, for cylinder pails, you need to multiply π (3.14) x the pail radius (in feet) x the pail height (in feet). To calculate the volume for square pails, multiply the pail's length x width x height (in feet).
