405 Finish:
A glass bottle with a 405 finish is actually a 400 finish but with a depressed thread. The 405 finish was designated to avoid abrasion and chaffing on the interior of cap threads. Both 400 and 405 are shallow continuous thread finishes.

What is the annealing temperature of this glass? We would like to anneal the jars to make them more durable to temperature changes & shifts

Thank you for your inquiry. All containers go through an annealing process after they are formed. To prevent thermal shock from occurring the glass would need to be heated to at least 95 degrees F if it is being filled at 185 degrees F. Thank you for choosing The Cary Company!
