Material:

Polystyrene PlasticPolystyrene (PS) is naturally clear and known in the plastics industry for being an economically inexpensive alternative to other plastics. Though less costly, PS has some disadvantages since it tends to be hard and has poor chemical and impact resistance, which makes it brittle. It is commonly found in plastic cutlery and food containers like our straight sided plastic jars, which can hold more basic products, such as dried foods, personal and pharmaceutical items. Polystyrene has poor to moderate resistance to temperature and UV light. Distortion occurs between 200° to 220° F.

Q & A
Customer Questions
Can this PS container be used for hot fill products?

Is this PS container BPA free?
PS may contain BPA. Under specifications, you will be able to determine whether or not a specific PS container is BPA free. For further understanding of what BPA is, read more here!
Is this PS container chemical resistant?
PS has poor chemical resistance but is great for holding basic products such as dried foods and personal and pharmaceutical items. We recommend requesting a sample of the container first to see if it’s compatible with your product.
Is this PS container food grade?
When a container is FDA compliant, that indicates that it is safe for food contact and can be used to package food or drinks that are suitable for human consumption. If our product page indicates that a container is FDA Approved, then the container is considered food grade and can be used to package consumable food and drink products.
