This 2.5 gallon (10 liter) tight head container is UN Rated (UN3H1/Y1.8/150) and made of durable high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic. The tri-layer wall construction consists of an interior HDPE layer with a Kortrax Barrier, a thicker middle HDPE layer made with 52% post-consumer resin (PCR), as well as an exterior white HDPE layer. Kortrax Barrier Resin limits hydrocarbon permeation and ensures optimal barrier performance. Additionally, PCR is an environment-friendly packaging option that is made from recycled plastics. This container comes with a fixed handle and is great for storing paints, coatings, adhesives, mastics, additives, agricultural chemicals, viscous products and other applications. They ensure secure and dependable shipment and storage of liquid products.

PCR Plastic

Post-consumer resin (PCR) is an environment-friendly material option that is made from recycled plastics, most commonly PET and HDPE to make new products such as bottles, milk jugs, buckets, and industrial products like IBC totes and poly drums. PCR is commonly used in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, animal care and industrial industries such as household and gardening. Containers can use anywhere from 10-100% post-consumer resin.



Material:

High-Density Polyethylene PlasticHigh density polyethylene (HDPE ) is the most commonly used resin. This economical plastic has good impact and chemical resistance, is naturally translucent and flexible. It is typically used for personal care products such as shampoo bottles. Adding color will give HDPE an opaque look that will result in an increase in weight and rigidness. We have a variety of these rigid and tough high density polyethylene products in stock, from containers, pails, bottles, caps, tubs and jugs. HDPE works well in below freezing temperatures. HDPE heat compatibility varies. Maximum fill temperature is generally around 171°F; however, testing is recommended with your specific product and application.

Can I store gasoline in this plastic tight head square and rectangular container?
We cannot confirm that this container can safely store diesel and gasoline for extended periods. We do offer Type I and Type II metal and poly safety cans that are specifically designed to store flammable liquids (like gasoline). These cans provide the proper ventilation for flammables and are made to withstand the corrosive effects of these liquids.
