HDPE Type I Safety Can for corrosives, 2.5 gallon, S/S hardware, self-close cap, Red
37BL32 is a red 2.5 gallon polyethylene Type I safety can designed to contain flammable and corrosive liquids. Made of durable HDPE (high density polyethylene), rugged gas can is fitted with a self-closing, stainless steel cap to prevent spilling. Pressure-relief mechanism and flame arrester work with cap to halt entry of ignition sources without impeding liquid flow into or out of the can. Polyethylene construction resists chips, dents and punctures. Stainless steel closing mechanism offers chemical resistance.

Conductive carbon insert (embedded into the container rib), when used with a grounding strip, offers proper grounding to prevent creating a static arc during filling or pouring. Bright red color and highly visible warning labeling alert users to ensure care when handling.
The proper handling of flammable and combustible liquids is important for the prevention of fires and explosions. Storing your flammable and combustible liquids in safety cans prevents the occurrence of fires and explosions as they inhibit the creation of flammable vapors, spills, and are designed to safely relieve internal pressure when subjected to fire conditions. Safety cans are vigorously tested to determine strength and go through drop, leak, strength and compatibility tests in order to determine the highest quality in safety standards. It is critical that you choose the proper can that has been determined to be compatible with your combustible or flammable liquid. The 37BL32 Type I polyethylene safety can is FM and UL approved. It also meets OSHA and NFPA requirements.

Material:
High density polyethylene (HDPE ) is the most commonly used resin. This economical plastic has good impact and chemical resistance, is naturally translucent and flexible. It is typically used for personal care products such as shampoo bottles. Adding color will give HDPE an opaque look that will result in an increase in weight and rigidness. We have a variety of these rigid and tough high density polyethylene products in stock, from containers, pails, bottles, caps, tubs and jugs. HDPE works well in below freezing temperatures. HDPE heat compatibility varies. Maximum fill temperature is generally around 171°F; however, testing is recommended with your specific product and application.
