Material:

High-Density Polyethylene PlasticHigh density polyethylene (HDPE ) is the most commonly used resin. This economical plastic has good impact and chemical resistance, is naturally translucent and flexible. It is typically used for personal care products such as shampoo bottles. Adding color will give HDPE an opaque look that will result in an increase in weight and rigidness. We have a variety of these rigid and tough high density polyethylene products in stock, from containers, pails, bottles, caps, tubs and jugs. HDPE plastic has moderate heat tolerance, with a melting point ranging from 120°F-180°F depending on the product and application. Testing is recommended. HDPE also generally works well in below freezing temperatures.

This open head plastic drum contains a removable lid for full, convenient access.

Yes, we have heating bands specifically designed to heat plastic drums.
What is a lever lock closure on this open head plastic drum and how does it work?
The lever lock ring securely seals the drum. Simply place the ring around the drum and close the lever to seal. To open, lift the lever to release.
Are open head plastic drums food grade?
Reconditioned drums are not typically FDA-approved for food grade. Our new open head plastic drums are FDA approved for food or pharmaceutical storage.
What are open head plastic drums typically used for?

Can I store gasoline in this plastic reconditioned drum?
We cannot confirm that this container can safely store diesel and gasoline for extended periods. We do offer Type I and Type II metal and poly safety cans that are specifically designed to store flammable liquids (like gasoline). These cans provide the proper ventilation for flammables and are made to withstand the corrosive effects of these liquids. What condition do reconditioned drums come in?
Reconditioned drums are previously used drums that go through a certified cleaning and reconditioning process.
What material was originally in my reconditioned plastic drum?
We have no way of tracing what material the drum contained prior to reconditioning.

No, reconditioned plastic drums are not safe for food, potable water or any consumable goods.
