5 Gallon PET Plastic Carboy
Beer and winemakers rejoice, the 5 Gallon (18.9 liter) PET Plastic Carboy with its clear, wide body and smooth inner walls is an affordable option you don't want to pass up. It is made of a heavy polyethylene terephthalate (PET) that is impermeable to oxygen and great for keeping your beer and wine tasting the way it should. The PET carboy is ideal for secondary fermentation and bulk aging of alcohol. The mouth fits a No. 10 rubber stopper. Carboys should not be filled or cleaned with liquids over 127° F (53° C).

Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET or PETE) is a clear material that has good impact strength, excellent chemical resistance and a high scratch resistance level. PET is known for being strong and lightweight. Our clear packer bottles can withstand high impact for short periods of time and can be widely found in the pharmaceutical sector. Polyethylene terephthalate is also commonly used in food and beverage bottles. PET can handle cold temperatures at about -40°F and is not suitable for hot fill applications. Distortion occurs between 140° to 150° F.
