Material:

Polypropylene PlasticPolypropylene (PP) is a tough plastic that has excellent chemical resistance. PP is translucent in its natural state but can have a glossy finish when produced with color. Some examples of common products made with PP are dairy and medication containers. Polypropylene is suitable for hot fill applications of up to 205°F and is therefore great for autoclaving. It is not recommended for cold or sub-freezing temperatures. Why should I choose a square pail over a round pail?
The square shape allows these containers to be stacked together more closely, which allows you to fit more pails into shipping cartons and on store shelves than comparably sized round pails.
Can I store gasoline in this square plastic pail?
We cannot confirm that this container can safely store diesel and gasoline for extended periods. We do offer Type I and Type II metal and poly safety cans that are specifically designed to store flammable liquids (like gasoline). These cans provide the proper ventilation for flammables and are made to withstand the corrosive effects of these liquids. How large is the hinge side of the lid versus non hinge side of the lid?
Thank you for your inquiry. The non-hinge lip on the opening's edge is approximately 5/8" from the end of the lid. On the opposite side, the pail hinge measures about 1-1/2" from the end of the lid. The lid itself is about 11-3/4" L. The portion of the lid that lifts from the hinge is approximately 10-1/4" long.
