This 5 micron polypropylene string wound filter cartridge (2-1/2" Dia. x 40" L) is has a spring end cap and Viton O-Rings. Designed for depth filtration, this cartridge effectively removes fine sediment from water, process fluids, and compressed gases. Made from FDA compliant polypropylene, it offers broad chemical compatibility and high sediment holding capacity for extended service life. The cartridge is precision-wound using high-speed machinery to create a consistent diamond pattern that defines its nominal 5 micron rating. Suitable for use in potable water systems, RO pre-filtration, chemical processing, and food and beverage applications.

Material:

Polypropylene PlasticPolypropylene (PP) is a tough plastic that has excellent chemical resistance. PP is translucent in its natural state but can have a glossy finish when produced with color. Some examples of common products made with PP are dairy and medication containers. Polypropylene is suitable for hot fill applications of up to 205°F and is therefore great for autoclaving. Distortion occurs between 240° to 270° F. It is not recommended for cold or sub-freezing temperatures. The Cary Company has an assortment of polypropylene plastics available for purchase, such as plastic caps and jars, which have a higher tolerance for chemical products.
