This 55 gallon black plastic reconditioned drum features a cover with lever lock ring closure for easily accessing product. The drum is UN rated UN1H2/Y160/S. Made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, this drum provides extra durability for transporting your products. Use this plastic drum outdoors as a rain barrel, floating barrel, or buoy. Additional uses include storing chemicals and oils.

Material:

High-Density Polyethylene PlasticHigh density polyethylene (HDPE ) is the most commonly used resin. This economical plastic has good impact and chemical resistance, is naturally translucent and flexible. It is typically used for personal care products such as shampoo bottles. Adding color will give HDPE an opaque look that will result in an increase in weight and rigidness. We have a variety of these rigid and tough high density polyethylene products in stock, from containers, pails, bottles, caps, tubs and jugs. HDPE plastic has moderate heat tolerance, with a melting point ranging from 120°F-180°F depending on the product and application. Testing is recommended. HDPE also generally works well in below freezing temperatures.
