This 55 gallon taper-sided drum is made out of durable high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Cover type, and drum style are varied. Color is mixed. It is reconditioned, meaning the drum has been thoroughly washed and restored for reuse. This drum is UN Rated, ideal for hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Applications include handling and transporting hazardous materials, storing spill kits, spill containment, biowaste disposal, and shipping. This plastic drum is nestable for stable stacking and ease of shipping. Reconditioned plastic drums are not safe for food packaging or any consumable goods.

Material:

High-Density Polyethylene PlasticHigh density polyethylene (HDPE ) is the most commonly used resin. This economical plastic has good impact and chemical resistance, is naturally translucent and flexible. It is typically used for personal care products such as shampoo bottles. Adding color will give HDPE an opaque look that will result in an increase in weight and rigidness. We have a variety of these rigid and tough high density polyethylene products in stock, from containers, pails, bottles, caps, tubs and jugs. HDPE plastic has moderate heat tolerance, with a melting point ranging from 120°F-180°F depending on the product and application. Testing is recommended. HDPE also generally works well in below freezing temperatures.
