This black smooth top is a continuous thread plastic cap that contains an universal HIS liner. This closure is made of polypropylene (PP) plastic and fits our 89-400 bottles and jars. This cap has a glossy, smooth top as well as side to give a sleek appearance. Heat induction liners are a popular choice when a tamper evident air tight seal is needed. It also works well with liquid products.

It’s important to test this cap if utilizing the induction seal. Products that contain gas, vinegar or oils should always be tested with induction liners.

Material:

Polypropylene (PP) is a tough plastic that has excellent chemical resistance. PP is translucent in its natural state but can have a glossy finish when produced with color. Some examples of common products made with PP are dairy and medication containers. Polypropylene is suitable for hot fill applications of up to 205°F and is therefore great for autoclaving. Distortion occurs between 240° to 270° F. It is not recommended for cold or sub-freezing temperatures. The Cary Company has an assortment of polypropylene plastics available for purchase, such as plastic caps and jars, which have a higher tolerance for chemical products.
