Specifications
Select the best of both worlds with our 1+1 A grade technical wine corks! 1+1 technical wine corks, also known as natural disk top (NDT) corks, feature two all-natural cork disks glued on the top and bottom of a fully agglomerated stopper for quality sealing without the high costs of single-piece natural cork. These corks are composed of 40% granulated cork, 10% natural cork and 50% synthetic glue.

Our 44 x 24 mm technical corks are #9 and compatible with most traditional 750 ml bottles. The secure seal created by the cork allows for bottled wine maturation up to 5 years when inserted properly with a compatible bottle.

Technical corks are chemically stable and mechanically resistant, behaving well under the torsion during bottling and uncorking. This pack of corks stoppers has no print to highlight the natural aesthetic.

The cork surface has been coated to allow for easier corking and extraction while improving impermeability. This coating lasts no longer than six months. Our natural corks should be used immediately and not stored for longer than six months. We ship direct from the source in Portugal to ensure a fresh coating. This cork comes 1,000 per pack - at Wholesale Pricing!

  • Mechanically resistant

Why technical corks?
Technical cork stoppers feature a dense agglomerated cork body with single piece natural cork disks glued to either just the top or both ends. 1+1 technical stoppers have disks glued to the top and bottom while 2+0 technical stoppers have two disks at one end of the cork. Technical corks are typically 40% granulated cork, 10% natural cork and 50% synthetic glue.

As the 1+1 technical corks have a natural cork top and bottom, the wine is in contact with the natural cork as opposed to a fully agglomerated closure. In addition, the natural cork top is the first exposure an end user will have of the product, providing a quality impression without the cost of a fully natural cork

Technical corks are typically chemically very stable and mechanically very resistant. They are often used for short to medium length periods of wine maturation as the durability of the glue used in technical corks has a shorter life span than glue used in colmation process and will loose elasticity over time.
