The Cary Company provides high-performance fluorosurfactants for a variety of applications, including stain repellents and coatings, with no environmental hazard.
C6 Fluorosurfactants supplied by The Cary Company are synthesized using a telomerization reaction instead of electrochemical fluorination. By avoiding electrochemical fluorination, Perfluorooctyl Sulfonate (PFOS) is also avoided, and the product will not be toxic or contribute to hazardous bioaccumulation, which are major concerns for fluorosurfactants. C6 fluorosurfactant also provide better performance than their shorter C4 counterparts.
Fluorosurfactants provide performance advantages over conventional surfactants. In water-based systems, much lower levels of fluorosurfactant are required to produce much greater surface-tension-lowering effects of hydrocarbon and silicone-based surfactants.
Characteristics of fluorosurfactants supplied by The Cary Company include:
- Wetting ability
- Corrosion inhibition
- Dispersing ability
- Pore penetration
