Material:

High-Density Polyethylene PlasticHigh density polyethylene (HDPE ) is the most commonly used resin. This economical plastic has good impact and chemical resistance, is naturally translucent and flexible. It is typically used for personal care products such as shampoo bottles. Adding color will give HDPE an opaque look that will result in an increase in weight and rigidness. We have a variety of these rigid and tough high density polyethylene products in stock, from containers, pails, bottles, caps, tubs and jugs. HDPE works well in below freezing temperatures. HDPE heat compatibility varies. Maximum fill temperature is generally around 171°F; however, testing is recommended with your specific product and application.

Q & A
Customer Questions
What is a threaded plastic pail typically used for?
Made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), this threaded plastic pail is FDA compliant and safe to use for storing food and beverages. Due to its safety lid features, threaded plastic pails are excellent for storing potentially hazardous chemicals and industrial products.
What kind of threaded plastic pails do you offer?
The Cary Company offers twist and lock threaded pails, screw top threaded pails as well as gamma seal lids that provide extra security.
Is this plastic pail child resistant and senior friendly?
Yes, all of The Cary Company’s threaded plastic pail options are child resistant and senior friendly.
Are all threaded plastic pails screw top?
Not all threaded plastic pails are screw top. We offer two screw top types that create a moisture resistant, air-tight seal: life latches and lite latches. Life latches close by twisting the lid in place and releases with a thumb push. Lite latches close by twisting the lid in place and releases by pushing the mechanism up.
How many cubic feet in a 5 gallon pail?
The simple conversion of measurement of 5 gallons is 0.803 cubic feet. However, this is for the nominal capacity of the pail. The actual (overflow) capacity of a pail can vary from model to model. To calculate the full volume in cubic feet, for cylinder pails, you need to multiply π (3.14) x the pail radius (in feet) x the pail height (in feet). To calculate the volume for square pails, multiply the pail's length x width x height (in feet).
