Child Resistant Closures In the highly regulated pharmaceutical market, reliable child resistant closures are essential. These child resistant closures safely secure your product while ensuring compliance with rigorous protocol testing to meet Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) standards. These caps are ideal for Automotive, Household Chemicals, Nutraceuticals, and Pharmaceutical industries.
Cap Liner Type:
F-217® .035" 3-Ply Co-extruded Foam Liner Composition The F-217 liner is a three-ply co-extruded white liner consisting of a closed cell foam produced from low-density polyethylene (LDPE) faced with solid LDPE on both sides. The opaque white outer skins create a high-quality visual aesthetic. The inner foam core creates a compressible yet resilient product allowing it to create a good seal with the container. 3-ply foam liners have become the industry standard due to their all-purpose compatibility, resilient, compressible seal, cleanliness (no pulp dust) and economy. 3-ply liners are taste and odor resistant, and have a low moisture transmission rate, meaning they prevent moisture from entering the bottle and affecting products. (This liner does not create an airtight seal.)
Polypropylene (PP) is a tough plastic that has excellent chemical resistance. PP is translucent in its natural state but can have a glossy finish when produced with color. Some examples of common products made with PP are dairy and medication containers. Polypropylene is suitable for hot fill applications of up to 165°F and is therefore great for autoclaving. It is not recommended for cold or sub-freezing temperatures. The Cary Company has an assortment of polypropylene plastics available for purchase, such as plastic caps and jars, which have a higher tolerance for chemical products.

Is this 38mm 38-400 Black Child Resistant Cap (PDT) w/Foam Liner (3-ply) considered tamper evident?
No, this cap and liner combination is not considered tamper evident. For a tamper-evident closure, you would want to pair one of our child resistant caps with a heat induction liner that is compatible with the container's material. For example, Part #30WC3W, 38mm 38-400 White Smooth Child Resistant Cap (PDT) w/Universal TE HIS Liner, is a child resistant cap that also fits 38mm 38-400 neck finishes. The HIS liner included with this cap is a heat induction liner that can be used for most container materials (e.g., glass, HDPE, PET, PVC, PP, etc.).
What’s the difference between pictorial and push down & turn child resistant caps?
The difference between the two of these caps is that push down & turn child resistant caps have different emboss directions on the top of the cap. Both require the same method of opening.
What industries use this push down & turn child resistant cap?
In the highly regulated pharmaceutical market, reliable child resistant closures are essential. These caps are also ideal for automotive, household chemicals, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceutical industries.
What kind of cap liners are compatible with push down & turn child resistant caps?
Liner options include vented, 3-ply foam (F217), foam, induction (HIS), LDPE and pressure sensitive.
