Polyethylene Terephthalate PlasticPolyethylene Terephthalate (PET or PETE) is a clear material that has good impact strength, excellent chemical resistance and a high scratch resistance level. PET is known for being strong and lightweight. Our clear packer bottles can withstand high impact for short periods of time and can be widely found in the pharmaceutical sector. Polyethylene terephthalate is also commonly used in food and beverage bottles. PET can handle cold temperatures at about -40°F and is not suitable for hot fill applications. Distortion occurs between 140° to 150° F. Do you have any 32 oz. PET beverage bottles that are rated for hot fill to 185° F available?
Thank you for your inquiry. The hot fill PET plastic bottles that are on The Cary Company website can be used for hot fill to about 120° F. However, we do have glass bottles that may fit this application, such as Part #30WDR4 and Part #30WDS4. We recommend requesting a sample to test for yourself. It is the end user's responsibility to ultimately determine product and packaging compatibility.
