- The 30W08C is a 8 oz 250 ml 1-1/8" beta cone top can. Also known as a pour top can, it has a cylindrical body and a tapered neck. Any filling temperature above 130°F could create a vacuum in the container and cause side wall paneling. The Cary Company offers closures for the 30W08C, such as lined caps and inner seals. This metal container has a layer of tinplate mill oil, often referred to as TMO or protective oil, applied to tinplate coils, serving several tightly controlled functions across corrosion protection, processability and surface quality. Freshly produced tinplate is highly susceptible to oxidation, especially at cut edges and micro-porosities in the tin coating. Mill oil forms a thin hydrophobic barrier that limits oxygen and moisture contact, reduces the risk of “white rust” (tin oxide formation) and preserves brightness during storage and transit.
