Rieke Capseals

Our selection of Rieke capseals includes both tool-applied and hand-applied options, depending on the model. Metal and plastic/metal combination Rieke closures typically require a compatible crimping tool for secure installation, while all-plastic Rieke capseals can often be applied by hand without additional equipment. Tamper-evident Rieke capseal options are also designed for tool-free application.

Several of our Rieke capseals are designed to provide visible tamper evidence and an added layer of security for drum closures. They feature breakaway seals or tear strips that clearly indicate when a closure has been opened or disturbed. These features help protect products from unauthorized access while also helping to reduce the risk of contamination, leaks and spills during storage and transportation.

Depending on the model, Rieke capseals may include galvanized steel breakaway rings, scored metal breakaway seals or EZ-grip tear bands. Safeseal® and other Rieke closures are specifically designed to provide additional protection against tampering, contamination and product damage while maintaining compatibility with designated Rieke drum plug systems.

The removal method for Rieke capseals depends on the specific style. Our tamper-evident plastic models feature a built-in tear strip or EZ-grip tear band that can be pulled to remove the Rieke capseal without tools. Other Rieke capseals incorporate a scored breakaway seal that provides easy access once the seal is intentionally opened. Because these features are designed to show evidence of opening, removal typically destroys the seal, helping maintain tamper-evident functionality.
