A Complete Line of Steel Drums and Barrels

The Cary Company has a variety of drums to meet consumer needs. The drum sizes range from 4 gallons up to 110 gallons and drums come available in tight head and open head styles.

The drums are made from plastic, carbon steel, stainless steel, composite, and fiber materials. We also offer Reconditioned drums available in both steel and plastic. Various drum styles include straight sided, taper sided, rain barrel and salvage/overpack drums. We also offer a full line of drum accessories, including liners and funnels.

Should you need a drum that is UN Rated, we offer those as well. Steel drums are great for storing and shipping a multitude of chemicals and with a wide variety in stock we're sure to have what you need.

Carbon Steel Drums (Open Head)

Open Head Carbon Steel Drums (removable top) are available in 5 gallon (19 liters), 10 gallon (38 liters), 16 gallon (61 liters), 20 gallon (76 liters), 30 gallon (114 liters), and 55 gallon (208 liters) sizes. Suitable for packaging a variety of contents, including hazardous materials, they have proven to be a durable and heavy-duty package for storage and transportation. Reconditioned and New drums are available. Lined (epoxy phenolic) and unlined drums are offered.

Additional Colors Available
If you require additional colors, The Cary Company offers unlimited colors and can custom match (Minimums will apply based on size of drum). Tight Head Steel Drums (Closed Head)

Tight Head Carbon Steel Drums (closed top) come available in 55 gallon (208 liters), 30 gallon (114 liters), 20 gallon (76 liters), 16 gallon (61 liters), and 10 gallon (38 liters) sizes. Suitable for packaging a variety of contents, including hazardous materials. New and reconditioned Steel Drums are available. Available with a rust inhibitor or with an epoxy phenolic lining. Tight head fittings include a 2" x 3/4" Tri-Sure Style Plug & Flange.

Stainless Steel Drums (Open Head)

Open Head Stainless Steel Drums (removable top) are offered in 85 gallon (322 liters), 55 gallon (208 liters), 30 gallon (114 liters), 20 gallon (76 liters), 15 gallon (57 liters), 10 gallon (38 liters), 5 gallon (19 liters), and 4 gallon (15 liters) sizes. Stainless Steel Drums offer an ideal solution for products requiring drum purity and compatibility of materials, depending on their composition. Due to unique properties, these drums can outperform carbon steel drums in terms of corrosion resistance, tensile strength and reusability. Drums feature bolt-type ring closure and a EPDM gasketed lid. Made from 304 Stainless Steel (316 available upon request).

Open Head Steel Salvage Drums are constructed of high quality carbon steel and come in 110 gallon (416 liters), 96 gallon (363 liters), 85 gallon (322 liters), 55 gallon (208 liters), 30 gallon (114 liters), 20 gallon (76 liters), 16 gallon (61 liters), 10 gallon (38 liters), 8 gallon (30 liters), and 5 gallon (19 liters) sizes. Steel salvage drum bodies are available with lever lock or bolt ring closures and EDPM gaskets. Steel salvage drums are UN certified for storing hazardous materials.

Available Options Include:

• 3/4" vent plugs (Drum Fittings, Drum Bungs)
• Corrosion resistant epoxy lining.

Understanding UN Ratings

Developed as a set of standards, by the United Nations, UN ratings are essential for shipping or storing hazardous materials. The UN Rating is a series of number and letter codes that show what a container is regulated to handle. They determine this through a series of tests that all containers must undergo if they are to be UN Rated. Current UN Regulations are enforced by the D.O.T. What is a "T" Rated Salvage Drum?
Adopted by all international regulatory agencies governing the transport of dangerous goods, the "T" marking on a Salvage Drum indicates that it has been qualified for the overpacking of damaged, leaking or non-compliant steel, plastic or fiber drums. The same "T" Salvage Drum may be used for damaged, leaking or non-complaint packages of either liquid or solid contents. Identified by the letter "T" in the UN mark (eg: UN1A2T/Y320/S), it is not mandatory for use within the US, but it is required outside the US. Therefore, a domestic company that is overpacking a liquid or solid drum and shipping it outside the US, should be sure that they are using a "T" qualified Salvage Drum.
