Q & A
Customer Questions
What are the power requirements for this emergency cubicle shower?
Thank you for your inquiry. The electrical requirements for this emergency cubicle shower (electrical supply pump) are 120V single phase, 60Hz (with plug end provided).
Does this unit come pre-assembled or is some assembly required?
Thank you for your inquiry. The unit is shipped fully assembled in a semi enclosed wooden crate. The user only needs to connect the provided power cord to a GFCI protected 110V power supply and the water supply. Thank you for choosing The Cary Company.
What head pressure can the sump pump generate on this emergency shower? We are looking for an option that generates the necessary pressure to pump the waste water up 12 feet before making a run to a drain.
Thank you for your inquiry. For the pump directly, the head pressure would be approximately 1500 GPH. However, keep in mind that any elbows, fittings, etc., will reduce the overall head coming out of the pump outlet on the back of the unit. The standard setup used adds a check valve and an elbow, which reduces the overall head coming out of the pump outlet. The pump in the unit operates at 1/4 HP. Thank you for choosing The Cary Company.
How much clearance is needed for incoming water and outgoing waste water against the corner of a concrete masonry wall for this safety shower? Can they be made in right- or left-hand versions?
Thank you for your inquiry. This model comes with the water inlet and pump outlet both in the back of the cubicle shower. Depending on the connections used, you will need between 4 to 8 inches minimum for piping connections. For the sides, there is no need for additional space. In regard to right- or left-handed versions, the shower activation valve is only available positioned on the right side of the eyewash (as shown). Thank you for choosing The Cary Company.
Does this unit come with a complete CSA certification?
Thank you for your inquiry. This unit only has the pump, which is CSA certified. There is no requirement for ANSI certification for this safety shower/eyewash station. Thank you for choosing The Cary Company.
