The 30W125 is a 1 gallon 1-3/4" Delta F-Style metal tin can packed 40 per cans per box. Also known as a square or oblong can, it has a rectangular body and base, making it space efficient for shipping and shelving. This product is not FDA approved. This can is UN Rated UN3A1/Y1.2/100. The Cary Company offers closures for the 30W125, such as lined caps and inner seals. This metal container has a layer of tinplate mill oil, often referred to as TMO or protective oil, applied to tinplate coils, serving several tightly controlled functions across corrosion protection, processability and surface quality. Freshly produced tinplate is highly susceptible to oxidation, especially at cut edges and micro-porosities in the tin coating. Mill oil forms a thin hydrophobic barrier that limits oxygen and moisture contact, reduces the risk of “white rust” (tin oxide formation) and preserves brightness during storage and transit.

Is this steel can food safe? Can I use it for olive oil, for example?

We have several 1-gallon glass and plastic options that may be suitable for this application. 1 Gallon White HDPE Plastic F-Style Bottle, 38mm 38-400, 140 Grams, Part#: 68WWFS 1 Gallon Natural HDPE Plastic Round Jug, 38mm 38-400, 130 Grams, Part #68WSBN.
