48mm F-217® Three-ply Foam Liner

The 68WL48 is a 48mm F-217® liner made of three layers: a thin soft polyethylene foam core sandwiched between two clear layers of LDPE film. F-217 has become the industry standard due to its all purpose compatibility, resilient, compressible seal, cleanliness (no pulp dust) and economy. F-217 liners are taste and odor resistant, and have a low moisture transmission rate, meaning they prevent moisture from entering the bottle and affecting products. F-217 is a brand-name and tends to be used interchangeably with foam liner. However, F-217 actually performs better than a regular foam liner. Like the foam liner, this also does not create an airtight seal.

The F-217 liner is a three-ply co-extruded white liner consisting of a closed cell foam produced from low-density polyethylene (LDPE) faced with solid LDPE on both sides. The opaque white outer skins create a high-quality visual aesthetic. The inner foam core creates a compressible yet resilient product allowing it to create a good seal with the container. 3-ply foam liners have become the industry standard due to there all-purpose compatibility, resilient, compressible seal, cleanliness (no pulp dust) and economy. 3-ply liners are taste and odor resistant, and have a low moisture transmission rate, meaning they prevent moisture from entering the bottle and affecting products. (This liner does not create an airtight seal.)

Do foam liners adhere to the bottle or cap?
Foam liners act as a barrier to prevent leakage. It doesn’t adhere to the container like pressure sensitive or heat induction seal liners. For more information on liners, check out our Guide to Liners.
Are foam liners suitable for liquids?
It is not recommended to use foam liners for liquids or oils. These liners work best for creams, sauces, and dry products.
