The Cary Company Successfully Passes NACD Responsible Distribution® Verification

The Responsible Distribution verification reaffirms The Cary Company’s commitment to health, safety, security and environmental performance.

The Cary CompanyAddison, Ill. December 1, 2021 The Cary Company announced today that it has successfully passed its NACD Responsible Distribution® verification for the current three-year cycle, reaffirming its pledge to continuous performance improvement in every phase of chemical storage, handling, transportation and disposal.

“The Cary Company is dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of not just our employees, but also to our community and the environment. This verification demonstrates the investment in both our facilities and the procedures we have in place to uphold the Responsible Distribution’s guiding principles,” said Kathy Lodico, director of continuous improvement at The Cary Company.

Responsible Distribution is the National Association of Chemical Distributor’s (NACD) third-party-verified environmental, health, safety and security program. The program requires third-party verification of facilities against a set of guiding principles, including strict adherence to widely accepted industry and business practices and participation with interested entities in creating responsible laws, regulations and systems to help safeguard our communities, workplaces and environment.

“Through their successful verification, The Cary Company and its senior leadership have committed to continuous improvement in the responsible management and handling of chemicals that ensures NACD members effectively support the industries America relies on most, such as agriculture, healthcare, oil and gas, manufacturing equipment and many others,” said NACD President and CEO Eric R. Byer.

In March, The Cary Company divested its Raw Materials and Specialty Chemicals distribution business as part of a strategic restructuring to focus on its Containers and Packaging business. However, The Cary Company continues to provide a range of quality storage solutions, equipped with over 210,000 square feet of warehouse space at its headquarters location including 22 loading docks, complete fire protection by ESFR and AFFF foam sprinkler systems, environmentally controlled areas for specialty type products, racking systems accessible by lift equipment and a flammable storage/hazardous materials room.

The Cary Company has been a member of the NACD since 1992.
