Specifications
The 68W33K is a 33mm (33-400) black electrolytic tinplate (tin coated steel) cap with a pulp/aluminum foil liner. This closure is typically used with glass bottles, jars and jugs. This continuous threaded (CT) cap has a black exterior with a gold interior and gold knurled edge. The pulp/aluminum foil liner is ideal in packaging hydrocarbon products, but should not be used with acids or alkalis. Because the foil liner is odor and taste resistant, this cap is also great for food applications.

Electrolytic tinplate caps are highly sought-after metal closures that are sometimes referred to as tin coated steel caps, which are manufactured from 73 lb. - 80 lb. x .20 lb. electrolytic tinplate metal. The coatings on these caps are FDA Compliant and contain no heavy metals and the tooling meets ISBT standards. The metal itself has been sized, coated, varnished, and waxed. Tin plate steel is sometimes used in place of lightweight mirrors due to its shiny or lustrous like mirror appearance. Tin-plate steel is available in various color options such as, white, gold, red, and yellow and is more competitively priced than other options. Most tinplate steel metal caps are colored and have a uniform color and coating application on the closure surface area; whereas, tin coated steel caps need a protective coating because they can corrode easily.

Pulp and aluminum foil liners work great for non-acidic, non-alkaline products containing ingredients that readily affect varnish coatings, synthetic resins and wax coatings. With one side of the liner made from aluminum foil and the other from bleached kraft paper, pulp and aluminum foil liners are often used for cosmetic creams, vegetable oils and acetic brine. These liners offer good chemical resistance to organic solvents, oil and grease. Pulp and aluminum foil liners are not compatible with acids, alkalis and aqueous products.
