This UN Rated (UN1A2/Y2.1/100) 5-gallon gray open head steel pail comes with a lug cover and an epoxy phenolic lined interior. The tapered pail is constructed of heavy-duty 26 gauge (top & bottom) steel and the lug cover is 24 gauge steel. This open head pail's epoxy phenolic lining provides excellent chemical resistance for alkaline products, which include fatty acids, detergents, emulsions, foods, general organic chemicals, surfactants, and water-based resins. Lug covers must be sealed with a lug closing tool (sold separately). Full decoration is available on bodies and covers for enhanced brand recognition.

Epoxy phenolic lining:
Epoxy phenolic lining improves the lining's flexibility, meaning it can adhere to dents or bends in the steel container, thus preventing contamination. It provides outstanding chemical resistance for alkaline products (those whose pH range from 7.0 to 9.0) including water-based resins, fatty acids, detergents, emulsions, foods, general organic chemicals, and surfactants. Epoxy phenolic is not recommended for use with acids or solvents. Additionally, epoxy phenolic lining has high heat resistance and corrosion resistance. Steel containers with an epoxy phenolic lining are ideal for applications that require excellent chemical resistance as well as general industrial use. This lining is manufactured with FDA-compliant raw materials.

Material:

The simple conversion of measurement of 5 gallons is 0.803 cubic feet. However, this is for the nominal capacity of the pail. The actual (overflow) capacity of a pail can vary from model to model. To calculate the full volume in cubic feet, for cylinder pails, you need to multiply π (3.14) x the pail radius (in feet) x the pail height (in feet). To calculate the volume for square pails, multiply the pail's length x width x height (in feet).
