Bond Polymers International
Waterborne Polyurethane ResinsBond Polymers International's polyurethane polymers provide the coating and adhesive formulator and end user an environmentally responsible, low V.O.C. alternative to solvent-borne products for high performance applications. Within their broad product line they manufacture several 100% Solvent-Free polyurethane resins as well as polyurethanes with a variety of co-solvent types (including many NMP-free polymers).
High solids aliphatic waterborne soft feel polyurethane. This polymer forms a film that has a unique "soft feel" similar to the feel of rubber. The film also has a naturally dull luster without the addition of conventional flatting agents. In addition to its unique "feel" and dull appearance, the film has exceptional elongation and elastic properties approaching the properties of natural latex.View Details
N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone (NMP) is the most common co-solvent used in the manufacture of waterborne polyurethane dispersions. The unique properties of NMP aid in both the processing of the polyurethane dispersions as well as the film formation of the applied polyurethane coating. In addition, the NMP can help with substrate wetting, freeze/thaw stability, and adhesion to some substrates.View Details
Self-crosslinking improves water and chemical resistance properties as well as improved adhesion to some difficult substrates when compared to conventional uncrosslinked waterborne polyurethanes. The crosslinking properties of the Bondthane™ series of products occurs at ambient temperature and may take up to five days to reach optimum properties.View Details
The unique properties of this nonionic hydrophilic polyurethane make it suitable for many specialty applications and coatings that can benefit from the pH stability, ionic stability, or the unique hydrophilic nature of the final film. Textile coatings in particular can benefit from the good moisture vapor transmission (MVT) properties of the hydrophilic polyurethane film.View Details
