Glassflake Ltd. - Suppliers of innovative glass flake products to a wide variety of industries worldwide! At the forefront of the glass flake industry is Glassflake, which was the first to create flakes through a rotary process. Glassflake produces glass flakes from 100 nanometers to 7 microns in thickness. Widely used in the coatings industry, glass flakes reduce permeation rates, can withstand thermal shock better than mild steel, and has low lateral shrinkage during cure.
Glass flakes have been used as corrosion resistance coatings, substrate for effect pigments, fire retardant coatings, and are often included in many other applications. They also provide excellent resistance to undercutting, mechanical abuse and abrasion, and have low VOC. When used in thermoplastics, glass flakes are used to decrease warpage and increase dimensional stability. Glass flakes work well at heat distortion temperatures, helping coating properties improve upon thermal and UV stability (providing weathering resistance), and impact resistance.
The Cary Company is an authorized distributor of Glassflake Ltd. Moonshine Glass Flake Effect Pigments.
