Anticorrosive Pigment Preparations

Whether it's due to moisture, chemicals, exposure or other causes, metal corrosion happens. This phenomenon can greatly affect the structural integrity as well as the appearance of steel. To combat these damaging effects, Heubach's anticorrosive pigment preparations are designed to extend the working life of steel. Offering chemical and/or electrochemical (active) pigments, as well as physical (barrier) pigments, Heubach's HEUCOPHOS® ZPA, ZPO and ZMP , HEUCOSIL™ and HEUCORIN®. anticorrosive pigments are formulated to inhibit rust and corrosion in an array of applications. Utilizing orthophosphates, polyphosphates, organic inhibitors, wide-spectrum anticorrosives and zinc-free anticorrosive products such as calcium modified silica, the line offers environmentally friendly alternatives to chrome-based corrosion inhibitors.

  • HEUCOPHOS® ACP is a zinc-free anti-corrosive pigment for application in Protective Coatings. This organically modified basic calcium orthophosphate has a pH value of 7.5 to 10.5 and average particle size of 2.5 to 4.0 microns.

Using the modified phosphate pigments together with the organic inhibitors in solvent-borne and waterborne protective coatings provides an excellent opportunity to combine the performance characteristics of both in terms of anti-corrosion synergy. Adding small quantities of HEUCORIN® RZ leads to improvements in existing protective coatings and lower formulation costs.
