Serving Quality and Reliable Silicone Fluids, Modified Resins, Silane Couplings & MoreShin-Etsu Chemical Company, Ltd. was founded in September 1926 and has since become one of the leading suppliers of silicones, specialty chemicals, functional materials and more. Industries served include photolithography, packaging, coatings, paints, adhesives, etc. With a broad line of products, Shin-Etsu continues to pursue new leads to meet industry demands while furthering research to raise the quality and production efficiency. The Cary Company offers Shin-Etsu's modified silicone fluids, silane couplings and functional resins to serve the diverse industries demanding the quality and performance offered by Shin-Etsu.
Modified silicone fluids combine the characteristics of dimethyl silicone fluid with the unique properties of various organic groups. Dimethyl silicone fluid offers the characteristics of water repellency, chemical stability, defoaming properties and is physiologically inert. By introducing an organic group into some of the methyl groups, the modification can add properties such as water solubility, paintability, lubricity, etc. Common applications include: paint additives, textile treatment agents, resin modifiers, waxes, plastic additives and more.View Details
Silane coupling agents contain functional groups that bond with both organic and inorganic materials, allowing them to act like an intermediary between materials. The molecules in these coupling agents have a reactive group that can form a chemical bond with organic materials such as vinyl groups, epoxy groups, amino groups, mercapto groups, etc. They also feature a reactive group that can bond with inorganic materials: primarily the methoxy group or ethoxy group. Silane coupling agents can be used to improve mechanical strength of composite materials, for resin modification, surface modification and for improving adhesion.View Details
Functional resins can improve the intrinsic performance of general purpose resins and provide functionalities to texture and other properties. Shin-Etsu offers solvent based vinyl resins combining the chemical resistance of vinyl chloride and the adhesiveness of vinyl acetate, water based vinyl emulsions and additives for slip and abrasion resistance. These functional resins are used across industries including: paints and coatings, inks, paper, textiles, automotive, construction and more!View Details
