Reconditioning Services from The Cary Company

What Is Reconditioning?
Reconditioning is the process of restoring used containers including drums, IBC totes, and pails so they can safely be reused. Each container goes through a deep cleaning and inspection process that refurbishes it to a reliable, like-new condition.
The Cary Company is proud to offer both reconditioned containers ready for purchase, as well as a disposal system that promotes reusing and reconditioning drums and totes.
The Reconditioning Process
The reconditioning process varies by container type, material, and previous use. Regardless of these factors, each container goes through a rigorous restoration process designed to ensure it is clean, compliant, and ready for safe use.
- Reconditioning starts with a thorough initial cleaning. Any remaining residue is removed, typically through vacuuming and rinsing out the containers.
- The containers then go through advanced washing systems designed to clear out remaining traces of previous contents, leaving them clean and ready for safe reuse.
- After cleaning, each container is carefully tested to make sure it meets industry standards set by the Reusable Industrial Packaging Association (RIPA) for safety and environmental responsibility. Containers must also meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) UN labeling requirements, ensuring they are safe to handle and ready for reuse.
